Episode 2: Re-Imagine Parenting: Deeply Decolonized & Intentionally Intergenerational
When you ask yourself the question, “To be a good parent, I must…,” whose voice do you hear? What is the answer that you come up with? For many of us, the answer to this question is affected by two invisible (yet fundamental) roadblocks: internalized oppression and intergenerational family trauma.
Episode Summary:
In today’s episode, I address these two roadblocks so that you can experiment with ways to make parenting an expression of ALL of who you are. You’ll explore ways to parent your child for social change and re-parenting your inner child for intergenerational family healing.
It’s possible to go beyond implementing parenting hacks and tracking your baby’s sleep in an app all day everyday. What if parenting could be a radical act of care and connection for you, your family, your community, your land & lineage? What if parenting could be an act of legacy making and intergenerational family healing?
I hope that this episode serves as a gentle yet firm invitation for you to re-imagine family building as an act of social change and lineage-long wellness.
